Regional Sales Manager - Northern Indiana

Summary of Responsibilities

Develop and promote the sale of West Bend’s product lines through independent agents in assigned territory. Drive profitable growth to the company. Develop specific annual goals for each agency.  Develop and maintain short and long-range plans that support corporate objectives. Oversee agents in an assigned region. Train new agents in West Bend's product lines and company philosophies.  Negotiate new and renewal business directly with Agent and/or Underwriter. Evaluate agencies to participate in Partners in Excellence program. Monitor and maintain quality of agency force; prospecting new agents and terminating unprofitable or low volume producing agencies. Communicate company changes to agencies. Inform the company of any significant changes in the Sales Region.  Assist the accounting department in collection of overdue agency accounts and loans plus inspect new and renewal agency business on an as needed basis.

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • 5 years professional experience in the property/casualty insurance industry

  • Good knowledge of industry technology

  • Superior communication skills

  • Proven manageability of agency management

  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Insurance or related field.

  • Completion of Program in General Insurance

  • CPCU, CIC or other insurance designations

  • Valid agents license
